ALFRETON CTC

We are the Alfreton Member Group of the Cycling Tourists Club. We organise rides to suit all ages and abilities, including:-

Beginners Rides	Beginners rides take place from May to September on Thursday evenings. We ride around 10 miles, with a refreshment break at the halfway point. Rides take place on cycle paths and quiet roads. Meet at Blackwell Hotel, Blackwell at 19:00. Please contact us by phone or email if you intend to join us. Short Rides	The ideal introduction to club cycling. Rides of 20 - 30 miles with a refreshment stop en route. Not always suitable for children. Please check in advance. Rides take place at weekends and on Wednesday evenings throughout the year. Some rides are "car-assisted" to enable riders to explore further afield.
Day Rides	The traditional club run. A full day covering 50 - 80 miles at a moderate pace with stops for elevenses, lunch and afternoon tea. Rides take place at weekends and on Tuesdays throughout the year.
Audax Rides	Some members enter events organised under Audax UK rules. These are non-competitive rides over distances ranging from 50 to 1400Km, to be ridden within set speed limits. Rides must be entered at least two weeks in advance. The member group also organises it own events.
Touring Rides	These are rides which involve an overnight stay, normally in Youth Hostels or B&B. We typically would ride to a destination on a Saturday and ride back on a Sunday. Further afield travel by car may be involved.
Challenge Rides	Our 2012 challenge rides series will appeal to everyone from complete beginners to riders who want to up their mileage. Rides range from 5 - 100 miles. The challenge series starts in May. Click here for more details.
